The UK casino industry, such as www.jackpotcity.com/uk/, thrives in a market where government pressure comes only in the form of player protections. France employs a system under which players have a choice between licensed independent operators which pay taxes and outright state owned casinos, where profits go straight to the government. Germany’s system is anything but competitive though. No independently operated casinos are allowed in Germany, and Germans are only given the option of a handful of state run outlets. So what most Germans do is simply break the law, and in huge numbers. Almost nobody plays at the state run casinos, which is said to be the result of stagnation brought on by a lack of any legal competition. Some 94% of German bets placed at online gambling venues were placed with unlicensed operators from outside of Germany. This has led many in Germany to question the gambling laws that are preventing Germany from benefiting from the nearly 8 billion euros being wagered in Germany. Add to this the results of several recent ECJ rulings and it is expected that we will soon see a change in Germany’s online gambling laws.

It’s no secret that the 2006 UIGEA is largely a failure. Americans are still playing online, despite the many obstacles that have been put in place. People like to play casino games, and they really seem to like playing them online. UIGEA has been vague and very difficult to enforce. As has been pointed out, it places most of the burden of enforcement on banks, something they are ill prepared and unwilling to do. So, what is now being proposed is a system similar to those being implemented in Europe, where online casinos are given

licenses to operate in the country and that way even if the company is located outside of the country, not all of the money will be leaving the local economy. US lawmakers who had supported the UIGEA ban had stated repeatedly that the money being lost to overseas operators was not the reason for the ban. The reason given for the ban was to protect players from things like fraud and problem gambling. The problem is, Americans are still playing online, at least $5 billion per year is still going to foreign operators, and since they are unlicensed, there is no way to force them to conform to any set of regulations. The argument then is that since people are going to play online anyway, there might as well be a system in place to make sure that they are cheated and also for the government to make money off of it.

This is one of the most annoying factors when it comes to online gambling websites. For some reason, 9 times out of 10, when you try your credit card it’s declined. If it’s a debit card, it could be linked to an account with millions of dollars or a credit card with a limit that you could never imagine being able to spend! Regardless, it’s declined. Now what?

First, it’s important to understand WHY it’s declined because it has nothing to do with you or your financial situation. I mean assuming that you’re not trying to use a maxed out credit card or a debit linked to an overdrawn account. ?

Banks don’t like online gambling websites. It’s as simple as that. There is too much risk involved. Personally, I think that’s crazy because if they knew me (or most of my girlfriends) then the same rule should apply to any shoe store. However, we’re familiar with the many wonders of society, so this shouldn’t really faze us much. Is it infringing on our personal freedoms? Hell yeah. Am I going to call for an online gambling revolution? No. Not quite yet.

The good news is that online casinos are really accommodating because it annoys them about 1000 times more than it annoys us. (We can leave the revolution thing to them…) That’s why they offer normally about 10 to 20 alternative ways to deposit money into your casino account. You can use methods that work with your credit card (sort of like a loophole because the banks don’t block those companies) or you can use companies that can access your checking account, you can also wire money. And there are usually 2 or 3 of each type to choose from. Since some of them charge nominal fees, the online gambling site will offset that with a bonus for using one of these deposit methods. The bonus is usually 2 to 3 times the cost, I guess they factor in the whole “inconvenience” thing.

So point is, if you card declines, relax. It’s normal, it’ll take you about 5 minutes to fix it, the casino will make a big deal of it and give you even more bonus money so in no time you’ll be playing with more than you had originally budgeted.

Too bad it doesn’t work the same way for shoes.

Many people approach a backgammon board and become intimidated by its setup. If you’ve been considering trying out backgammon but have had this feeling, you’ll be happy to know decoding the backgammon board is a very simple task.

First off, let’s understand the object. Backgammon is a two player board game where players each have a set number of checkers which they race to get around and off of the board first. When you look at a backgammon board, you’ll see it is divided into 4 sections with a bar halving the board, creating two halves with 2 sections in each half. The bar is simply a place for holding checkers that have been hit and for placing the doubling die. It does not affect the movement of checkers around the board.

You and your opponent will start from the same side of the board but opposite sections. Each section of the backgammon board has 12 long triangles which are called points. These points are the spaces your checkers will move on. Don’t worry about the different colors of the points, this has no affect. You can land on any point that is open to land on. You and your opponent will simply line up your checkers at the starting section according to the rules (they will tell you how many checkers go on each point of your section before the game starts). From there you simply roll the dice and choose where to move your checkers on the backgammon board in order to win. You and your opponent will race opposite directions around the board. The backgammon board is simply that easy to understand.

A casino bonus is a many varied and wonderful thing. No two online casinos will have the same casino bonus and that means that if you are selecting one to register with, you will be spoilt for choice. Of course sometimes, too much choice can be a debilitating thing, especially when there seem to be fine margins between what is being offered. With sites from Casino Las Vegas to Casino London and Palm Beach Casino, it’s no wonder many players struggle to make sense of them all.

The online casino that you choose will not only be determined by the casino bonus, but inevitably it will be this that will probably first attract your attention. So what types of casino bonus can you expect? There are sites that will offer you 100% of your initial deposit, perhaps even as much as 150% i.e. you put in $200 and in the second case; you will actually have $500 to play with. Some sites will just offer a cash incentive and by signing up on a particular day could net you up to $500. Look around though and find what is most attractive to you.

Also take into account that the casino bonus is not (or at least should not be) the be all and end all of your decision to join a particular online casino. Do you feel comfortable there, are there casino games that you’d like to play, what is the security like; all these are important questions and should be high up on your list of priorities. Whether you’re looking for your next poker win or to play backgammon online free, bonuses will always affect your choices.

The world of online gaming is an exciting one, and when it comes to online gambling, a very profitable one! For those of you approaching an online casino for the first time, there are a few initial steps you should take before diving in.

Most importantly, when selecting an online casino, be sure to investigate its security and deposit methods. Don’t take the casino’s specific summary at face value, an easy internet search of the online casino’s security software should produce a quick and sufficient answer to the integrity of the security software. In most cases online casinos use popular, well know software, but, you can never be too safe with your money! Also, you should be aware that if you are uncomfortable using a credit card, many casinos take other forms of payment.

In picking an online casino, you should also pay attention to what the casino offers you. Many casinos offer a casino bonus and other promotional incentives for you to play. Also be sure to choose a casino that offers the games you want to play. Know that not all online casinos are the same; each offers certain games, certain incentives, and certain software; which brings me to the last point.

Know what type of gaming software will best suit you. There are online casinos that offer downloaded games and browser based games, tournament formats of different types, and some offer online gambling using both fake money and real money.

Online Casinos offer you a large selection of gaming options, so be smart and research different casino sites for the one that best suits you. Happy Gaming!

One of the most enjoyable features of backgammon is the friendly atmosphere prevailing in the vast majority of games and tournaments. More experienced players help the novices learn the rules of the game, and all types of players generally accept in good spirits if the game does not look as if they are going to be a winner.

It therefore may seem superfluous that such a thing as backgammon etiquette is required. However, since new participants are always joining the game and might not have learned what is expected, and even seasoned players at times forget themselves, it is worthwhile noting a few of the basic principals governing acceptable behavior.

As in all games, whether played for money or fun, each player should play in an honest and sporting fashion. Thus, although there may be temptations, especially where a great deal of money is at stake, to tamper with the dice, such acts or even consideration of doing this kind of thing has to be considered totally out of bounds.

Each player should always consider the other backgammon player, and try to imagine how they would like their opponent to behave and act accordingly. Thus although it is proper to think before making a move, don’t take forever to decide. Also, don’t pick up the doubling cube without the intention of offering a double. Wanting to see the look on the other player’s face and so better judging his situation is not sufficient excuse.

There are many other aspects of decent behavior that should be second nature, such as not trying to disturb the opposing player when they are thinking of what move to make, and always speaking to them in a polite and respectful manner.
